Ueno Park was crowded with people. Although there are many art galleries and museums here, the purpose of most people visiting here today is not to appreciate art. It is cherry blossom season, and they are here to view the cherry blossoms. This is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo.
Walking through the crowd, we came to the entrance of Toshogu Shrine. The approach to the shrine is also lined with cherry trees, and is also very crowded. And many food stalls were lined up. At the stall in the photo, a girl is grilling corn on the cob beside a banner. Many people would rather eat dumplings than flowers. I am one of them.
