A woman with plenty of thanaka on her cheeks smiled happily at me, showing her teeth
Stalls lined the sidewalks of busy streets stretching into central Yangon. This area was bustling with activity. Many people were working and many people were shopping. A round-faced woman was one of the workers at one of the stalls.
She had a generous amount of Thanaka on her cheeks, and when she noticed my camera, she squinted at me and smiled happily. Hanging from her ears were a pair of earrings as round as her face. If I were to buy the same thing, I would want to buy it from someone as cheerful as this woman. The woman's stall must be thriving.
