I was in Berhampore, upstream from the Hooghly River that flows through Kolkata. When I came to the riverside, I saw children playing around a big tree standing by the river, so I decided to approach the tree. As soon as they climbed the tree, they jumped into the river. As I approached, the children gathered around excitedly. Apparently, it is more fun to stare at a foreigner you don't see very often than to jump into the river from a tree.
The boy in the photo is one of them. When I pointed my camera at him, he looked into the lens. When I pressed the shutter, he looked a little bit embarrassed.
