There were many Volkswagen Beetles on the road in Mexico. Most of them aren't newer models that have been redesigned, but old-fashioned models. It's a German car, but you see them all over the place, so much so that they are the national car of Mexico.
As I stood at the entrance to the parking garage in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, a Beetle drove up at breakneck speed. Then it disappeared into the underground parking lot.
Unfortunately, the Beetle will cease production in 2019, ending a total of almost 80 years since production of the first Type I began in 1938.
