Bontoc is the capital of a state named the Mountain Province. Mountain Province is an easy name. It's true that there are many mountains around here, but I wonder if they didn't come up with a better name for it.
For example, in the United States, many states are named after Native American words. Ohio is an Iroquois word for "good river" and Alabama is a Creek word for "tribal town".
In retrospect, I think the Mountain State should have been named after something in the local language. Since the town of Bontoc is named after the tribe of the Bontoc tribe, they should have done the same.
In the center of Bontoc, there was a row of stores and town factories. Two girls were standing in front of one of the factories, staring inside. But I could not see inside. This kind of situation makes me feel as if something interesting is going on in a place I can't see, and it makes me curious, but most of the time I don't find anything particularly interesting when I look inside.
