The Musee de l'Orangerie stands in the Tuileries Park facing the Seine River in Paris. The museum was originally designed to house Monet's series of "Water Lilies," but now it houses many works by Impressionists and Post-Impressionists in addition to Monet.
I looked at the paintings on display in the dimly lit museum. On the wall, I saw "The Little Pastry Cook" by the Russian painter Chaïm Soutine hanging. The man standing in the aisle next to it was beautifully silhouetted in the sunlight coming in from outside.
