An old man at Kuan Ying Teng Temple spoke to me as I was about to go insid
Many people were hanging out in front of the Kuan Ying Teng Temple in Georgetown. The elderly man in the photo, wearing a straw hat and sunglasses, was one of them. When he saw me, he extended his hand and beckoned to me. When I approached him to see what was going on, he spoke to me with a loud gesture.
Unfortunately, I had no idea what he was talking to me about. Perhaps he was simply telling me about the auspiciousness of a historic temple on the island of Penang, but probably not. The atmosphere in which he spoke to me was a little strange, and I felt as if he was beckoning me to the other side of the world. Who in the world was this old man?
