A man in glasses sat at the entrance of a barbershop, waiting for his turn. His hair looked slightly overgrown — just enough to suggest it was time for a trim. His mustache was flecked with gray, but the hair on his head remained strikingly black.
Unlike in Japan, barbershops around here don’t offer magazines to pass the time. There were no distractions. The man simply waited — quietly, patiently — for his name to be called.
