Shot in the city of Yangon, Myanmar.
Along with the street vendors selling foods and beverages, it was common to see street vendors working with a sewing machine. The sewer seemed to be one of the major business in Yangon. That kind of the light industry was in the bloom in this country. After the democratization, many foreign countries have been investing in this country. Hopefully, it could become the foundation for the development of heavy industry. And I thought it was worth to have an ear to the ground whether this country could pass through 'the middle-income country trap'.
Watching the sewers by the roadside, most of them used a treadle machine. It might be useful because it was not necessary to consume electricity to handle. Perhaps, there was not enough electricity to activate all the sewing machine in this country yet.
