While standing on the side of the road in Kathmandu, I saw a man carrying a large package on his back. The man was carrying it using a cord called a namlo. He lifts the baggage with the namlo that he wears on his forehead and carries it on his back. In Nepal, many people use namlo to carry their luggage. Namlo is usually used with a basket called doko, but this man was not using a doko. Perhaps his luggage was too large to fit in the doco.
The luggage the man was carrying was larger than the man himself. The man's face showed an expression of anguish, so not only was it large, but it must have been very heavy. A man who can carry such a large load in a namlo must have a very strong neck.
