Turret trucks, which were seen in large numbers at the Tsukiji Market in the past, were also running here at the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market. Because of their structure, they are widely used in wholesale markets, factories, warehouses, railroad stations, and other places for loading and unloading goods, as they can turn in small circles. When I see these small and cute vehicles running around the spacious market, I wish I could get on one and steer it. It must be fun to play tag with it.
I found out that the turret truck can be registered as a small special motor vehicle. In other words, it is possible to ride on public roads if registered, but I have never seen anyone riding a turret truck around town. There are all kinds of people in the world, some of whom have cycled around Japan, some of whom have traced the Silk Road by bicycle, and some of whom have circumnavigated Japan on a rickshaw, but I have never seen anyone riding around on a turret truck. Riding around town on a small, maneuverable turret truck would not only be convenient, but would surely attract a great deal of attention. Is it just me, or does it look even cooler than the electric kickboards that are all the rage now?
