As I was walking through the streets of Malda, a man started talking to me. Perhaps I stand out as a foreigner, but there are many people who talk to me when I walk. They spoke to me in Bengali, so I couldn't understand exactly what they were saying, but they were probably asking me where I came from or some other trivial question.
The man with the long slit eyes was a little different. He was not talking to me about something trivial. He was asking me if I wanted to ride on his cycle rickshaw.
He was wearing a cloth around his neck. My eyes were glued to the cloth around his neck despite his sales talk. In India, many people wear the same kind of cloth. I don't know what they are wearing it for. Maybe it's just to prevent sunburn.
