When I entered into an alleyway in this area, an old woman came from over there. She wore a Kimono, a Japanese dress. The dress was fitted to the old street. She passed a young woman ahead me. In total contrast to the old woman, the young woman wore an European clothes. When I saw the moment, I thought the modern and the tradition just went by each other.
Yet I wondered why I thought the European clothes was a metaphor of the modern at the same time. I might think the westernization was equivalent to the modernization somewhere in my heart.
