A well-worn bicycle was propped against the wall in the lane
The old town of Galle, which is registered as a World Heritage Site, was deserted. There was no one in the alleys where I was walking. The alley was quiet. There were only two bicycles propped up against the wall.
The bicycles seemed to be waiting for someone to come and ride them. Even though the city is registered as a World Heritage Site, that does not necessarily mean that it is crowded with tourists. Here in Galle, there are not many tourists or even locals walking around. The alleys were quiet, and only the bicycles seemed to be waiting for someone to come.
