A young woman was resting in the shade by the roadside. It seems that it is not only tourists like me who feel the strong sun in Ho Chi Minh City. It seems to be hot for the locals as well, and I guess they get tired of being in the sun. This woman had also taken off her braided hat and was relaxing with it in her hands.
As a Japanese, the sight of conical hats makes me think of the countryside or countryside, but here in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam, there are no rice paddies anywhere around. The braided hats that city women continue to use today must be quite versatile and useful.
