I came to the post office to leave a letter from the city of Kolkata. There were two men sitting in front of the India Post logo. They didn't seem to be doing anything, just sitting there, looking bored. When I pointed the camera at them, they complied without saying a word. Maybe this was just a meeting place.
In India, unlike Japan, the postal service has not been privatized. It is still run by the Indian Ministry of Communications. The postal service run by Indian bureaucrats. With all due respect, I wasn't sure if my mail would be delivered properly, but I expected (hoped?) that it would be. Contrary to the fact that all the letters I sent out from here were delivered safely.
