The two boys wore the same horizontal-striped polo shirt and walked the lane together
As I stood by a bicycle propped up in the alley, two boys walked around the corner. They were probably brothers, as they were wearing matching horizontally striped polo shirts. Not only are they dressed similarly, but there is not much difference in height, so they may be twins.
In this alley, as in other alleys stretching into residential areas of Shanghai, there was laundry hanging out to dry overhead in the alley. There was also a futon hanging out to dry here. In Shanghai, alleys and laundry are inseparable.
