Pointing the camera at the pierced woman and she smiled shyly

In a back alley of Ho Chi Minh City, the afternoon sunlight softly reflected off the walls. In a quiet corner just beyond the city’s noise, a young woman sat alone.

A small glint came from her earring as it caught the light. She wore a thin-strapped dress and held an open magazine against her chest. On the glossy page was a photo of a white dress — one that seemed to mirror her own silhouette.

Our eyes met for a moment. Instinctively, I raised my camera in silence. She looked slightly uncertain at first, but soon offered a gentle smile — just a subtle lift at the corners of her mouth. And then, in the very next moment, she looked away.
