As I was walking through the streets of Pune, a curious schoolboy came from the other side. When I pointed my camera at him, he responded by making a peace sign.
In India, too, children often make the peace sign when I point the camera at them, and like in Japan, it seems to be a standard pose when taking pictures. Of course, this does not mean that they are appealing for peace, just as in Japan. It's just a pose for a photoshoot, and it doesn't have any meaning. All I could tell from the peace sign was that this boy enjoyed the photoshoot.
