Tapgol Park is a small park in Seoul, but its significance is great. Originally the site of the royal Yi family's temple, the park was the birthplace of the March 1st Movement. For this reason, reliefs commemorating the independence movement have been installed in the park. The photo shows a portion of one of the 10 reliefs.

The March 1st Movement was literally a movement for independence from the Japanese Empire. Therefore, the people on the Japanese side depicted in the relief are depicted as villains. The Japanese military policeman depicted in the relief also looks like a villain. The image of Japan during the Japanese colonial period seems to be quite bad.
