When I was walking around popular tourist spots in Morocco, it was hard to find people who were willing to let me take their photo. Even if I ask a man, not a woman, to take his photo, he often refuses. When I ask them why, they say it's for religious reasons, but since I have never heard such a thing in a country with many Muslims, I have a feeling that the real reason lies somewhere else.
In the meantime, a young man I met in the old city of Fez was very cheerful. Not only was he willing to take pictures, but he also posed playfully for the camera. His mouth was wide open. It was as if he thought it was not enough to just stand there and be photographed.
