The latticed windows were covered with posters of Hideko Takamine
I saw a poster of Hideko Takamine in the window of a bar in Jimbocho. She was a famous actress of the past. She retired from the silver screen in 1979, so it's been more than 40 years ago. I have never seen a movie with her in it. In the poster, Hideko Takamine was smiling on the other side of the grate.
Even though actresses may have grown old, they are still remembered as beautiful as they were in the past. In my mind, Julie Andrews is still Maria from "The Sound of Music", and Carrie Fisher is still Princess Leia from "Star Wars". Hideko Takamine has been dead for a while now, but in the mind of the owner of this bar, she still looks the same as she did in the poster..
