Many people were crossing the sun-drenched scramble intersection in Shibuya

The places that people living in Tokyo think are tourist attractions in Tokyo and the places that tourists want to visit when they visit Tokyo are not always the same. The Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa is considered a tourist attraction by Tokyo residents and a must-visit by tourists when they come to Tokyo, but the two are not always the same. The opposite is also true. The sights that tourists expect to see in Tokyo or that are typical of Japan are not always the same as the sights that people living in Tokyo think are typical of Tokyo.

For most people living in Tokyo, the intersection in front of JR Shibuya station is just a big intersection that they have to cross to get to Center Gai or Park Avenue. However, it is a very popular spot for tourists, especially those from overseas, and many tourists come here and take pictures with their cameras.

When I see such tourists from overseas, I wonder if there are not many scramble intersections like this in other countries. It's the same way that I am curious to see roundabouts in Europe, which I rarely see in Japan.
