The man with goggle eyes stared at me silently
A man in a checkered shirt was sitting on the side of the road in Kolkata. He was different from the other workers around him. This man with gray hair and stubble was standing tall and did not appear to be working at all. On the contrary, he gave off a slightly unapproachable vibe. Perhaps he was a foreman or something and was a bit more important than the people around him.
I stood in front of this man to point my camera at him. The man looked at me as if I were a gentile who had suddenly appeared. I didn't have any particular need for this man, and he didn't have any need for me either. Still, we stared at each other for a while. The man didn't seem to be perturbed when I took my SLR camera out of my hands. He just kept on looking at me with his eyes glazed over without saying a word.
