The only person on the rickety escalator was a man alone
Before I knew it, a new building had been completed in Shimbashi near my workplace. I knew I had to explore. So I rushed to the new building. According to the directories displayed at the entrance, there is a restaurant inside. I had a feeling that I would have more options for lunch.
I entered the building, and sure enough, there were restaurants on the lower floors, but most of the building was occupied by offices. As an outsider, I was not allowed to set foot inside. A little disappointed, I decided to have lunch at one of the six restaurants. The restaurant, which served Brazilian cuisine, was buffet style. In such cases, I tend to eat too much, and as expected, I ate too much this time. After paying the bill, I leaned against the fence and watched the escalator in a daze. It was long past the normal lunch time, so there were few people on the escalator. Only one man was going down the escalator.
