Needleworkers held bright purple fabric with floral patterns
While walking through the city of Kolkata, I came across a small workshop. Inside, some men were doing needlework. It is not unusual to see people doing this kind of handiwork in the city. One might think that needlework is a woman's job, but there are many male craftsmen as well.
The two men in the photo were sitting opposite each other in a small workshop. They were spreading out a bright purple fabric with a floral pattern and seriously checking the quality of their embroidery. Both men were so busy checking the finished embroidery that when I stood close by and pointed my camera at them, they paid no attention to me.
